An ARP spoofing attack is used to trick devices on a local network into sending data to the wrong destination.

The goal? To make the attacker’s device appear as the gateway or another trusted device by sending fake ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) messages.

    Once successful, the attacker can:

    • Intercept sensitive data (like passwords or emails)
    • Modify or block traffic
    • Launch man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks
    • Eavesdrop on private communication

In short: The aim of an ARP spoofing attack is to gain unauthorized access to network traffic by impersonating another device.
