I’m backing up some old music and thinking of burning it onto CDs but I’ve heard that burning might reduce audio quality. Is that true Or does the quality stay the same as the original file

Burning a CD doesn’t automatically reduce quality—it depends on what format you’re burning and how you burn it. If you’re using high-quality source files (like WAV) and burning in audio CD format the sound should be the same. However if you’re converting MP3s or using low-bitrate files or burning too fast (like 48x) you might hear a drop in quality or get playback issues. Stick to slow burn speeds (8x–16x) for the best results.
